Fern Maxine Hawkins

	Fern Maxine Hawkins, age 91, of Pinckneyville, died in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 12:38 a.m.
	Fern was born in Pinckneyville on October 24, 1911, the daughter of Luther and Florence (Gregory) Loucks.  She married Kenneth Hawkins on May 17, 1930 in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1986.  Fern was a member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville where she worked in the nursery and served on the kitchen committee for several years.  She was also a member of the Golden Age Sunday  School Class and the Women's Missionary Union.
	Survivors include two sons, Thomas Hawkins and wife Judy of Pinckneyville and Dennis 'Dink' Hawkins and wife Dorothy of Sewickley, Penn.; two daughters, Judy Block and husband Bill of Pinckneyville and Rebecca Dow of New Port, Ky.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Lillian Carson and Imogene Deal and a son in infancy.
	Funeral services were held at the Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville on Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randy Plunkett officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Visitation was held at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Friday, April 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8 until 9:30 a.m. then at the church from 10 a.m. until services.
	Memorial donations may be made to the Golden Age Sunday School Class of Beaucoup Baptist Church.
